Why Indians are ideal candidates for colonising Mars
Why
Indians are ideal candidates for colonizing Mars: kuchkas
NASA has been in the forefront of
knowledge and quest for understanding our universe. It has journeyed into
unknown lands where mankind has not gone before and continues to do so. Most,
if not all, of scientific, engineering, medical and IT developments have been a
by-product of such pursuits by NASA, the Soviet and European space
research.
Colonizing another planet and trying to
recreate livable conditions for human beings seem to be one of the next
frontiers. While the search for extra-terrestrial life anywhere in our
Universe would be the ultimate triumph of such endeavors, our ability to
travel far and wide and find ways to exist in alien worlds will be the practical
offshoot of such scientific quests. It also has vast potential for unimaginable
and exponential growth in engineering, material science, application etc. As an
offshoot.
The attached news report mentions about
NASA's experiment of assigning five humans to a dome, 36" in dia, with no
fresh air or food for twelve months. The idea is to try and simulate
conditions expected to prevail in Mars and see how they adjust to lack of
space, lack of privacy, lack of tasty and fresh food, fresh water and air etc .
Obviously, an experiment, that then will lead to necessary technologies and behavior
controlling know how that will help manage a prolonged stay in an alien world
like Mars. At enormous cost and huge amount of time.
This is where NASA and the Soviets are
making a mistake. It only shows that they lack an understanding of conditions
in our own planet! They have a vast pool of already acclimatised and suitably
adjusted people who are battle ready for a long stay in Mars, if the conditions
NASA is testing is correct. Here itself. On our planet. In a country
called India!
Take a look at Mumbai. Pick any spot,
the Dharavi slum, the chawl in Koliwada, the 21 storey matchbox structure in
Parel, any of the scores of locations. See the space density in these
dwellings. Ten to 12 people, old, young, just married and children live within
200sft space. Clean air? Whats that? They ask. Or take a walk in the tribal
areas of BIhar, Orissa or Telengana. The " dome" they live in has few
dried leafs as a roof, some dried twigs as walls! They have withstood fiercely
adverse weather conditions for ages. Food is available once a day and occasionally
half of the inhabitants go hungry. All these men and women have eaten, slept, and
attended natures call, all without privacy. And they have behaved perfectly
well! They
also have an additional threat not
expected to be encountered in Mars. Their fellow men who, part of the
establishment, who come and harm their women and children! This also they have
adjusted too!
The present Political dispensation,
often seen to espouse a Make in India option, is best advised to talk to NASA
and advise them of India's willingness to offer, at a price, men and women
primed and ready to undertake the Mars sojourn. At a fraction of the cost
they plan to incur. It will be another of the cheap human capital India has
offered to the world like in the middle east, the IT world etc. India at the frontier
of knowledge! Imagine. We will be the first humans to colonise Mars!
Sweet revenge for being colonised and subjugated for thousands of years. Mars here we come. Jai hind!

Yes, a few like you will understand.

It should go to NASA....mars research will be pushed further till India is colonised as per their living standards and norms:)
